Corto kid is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles.
As a former professional judo fighter, his approach involves body movement and balance as a way to connect with his subject.
He started his career as a director of photography with documentaries such as Main d’œuvre (selected for the Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art), and other conceptual art videos such as As if Biting Iron (Collection: Voorlinden Museum, NL; Collection Kamerik, NL) and Traces (Exhibition: Manifesta Biennial). His obsession for improvement pushed him to become a Steadicam operator, mentored by Greg Smith.
He has recently transitioned to fiction, acting as camera crew member for a forthcoming Luc Besson project. This year he shot his first feature film as DoP: Be A Good Girl.
His interest lies in the underbelly of human connections and his work is inspired by collective action.
